Here we are at the end of 2025 and what a year it has been. We thank all our volunteers and supporters for being part of our community as we take this amazing capital works journey towards the new arts centre.

It has been a year of hard work by the volunteers on the Management Committee and various sub committees including the NAC Project Sub-Committee, the NAC Sub-Committee (formerly the Gallery & Studios Sub-Committee), and the Grants and Fund Raising Sub-Committee.

We broke ground in July and now in December we can see the significant progress that has been made as key stages have been completed and the overall structure and layout are clearly emerging.

In 2026, the architects and construction workers will complete the build, and we will focus on the fixtures, fittings and equipment for the centre. Our Gallery and Studios Engagement Officer, Liz McCrystal, is developing the inaugural program and building administrative systems that are vital to the management of the centre.

2026 will be a landmark year for Narooma, marked by the long-anticipated completion and opening of our new arts centre and the centenary celebration of the Memorial Hall – home to the wonderful Kinema.

We pay our respects to the victims and their families of the December 14 terror attack in Bondi. Australia is our home collectively and together we will speak up and be unified in our belief that racism, antisemitism, violence and hatred have no place in our society.
