Turned wood by Tony Jaggers alongside prints, drawings and paintings by Perpetua McInnes
Opening event 5 - 7pm Friday 11 October 2024
Tony Jaggers shows his mastery of wood turning exhibiting his creations made from Red Gum Burls and other local woods. Jaggers has been turning wood for 40 years transforming pieces of wood into objects of beauty and utility. He has a feel for the grain and structure of the wood, highlighting the wood’s natural structure and beauty. The works include utilitarian object to more elaborate pieces that demonstrate the fine craft of wood turning.
Perpetua McInnes will exhibit mono prints, drawing and paintings of flora. Responding to the vibrant colours, intricate patterns, and subtle textures of local flora, Petti’s observations and technical skills celebrate the aesthetic appeal of the natural world. Perpetua, alias Petti, was not born with a spoon in her mouth but a pencil in her hand, drawing before she learnt to speak. Perpetua enjoys drawing and creating as a meditative practice.
