Studio Hire Information

Narooma School of Arts (NSoA) Studios, located in what is also known as the Cottage, are available for hire to undertake art workshops and cultural and educational activities by artists, community groups, local organisations and for non-profit organisations. Regular and unique workshops and group meetings/activities take place within the NSoA Studios. The Studios and its program are managed by the Gallery and Studio Working Group of the NSoA.

Studio Hire is available to NSoA members only. All members of the NSoA are covered by the NSoA Insurance.

 Facilities include

  • Two rooms with hardwood floors

  • kitchen and bathroom

  • large fenced outdoor area

  • a wet area

  • pack down tables and chairs which can be used indoors and outdoors

  • a large digital screen

Studio hire fees

  • $45.00 - 4 hours referred to as a half day

  • $90.00 - 6 – 8 hours referred to as a full day

  • $50.00 - Workshop Cleaning Bond of $50 is required for all bookings.

    The bond is returned if the Studios are left in a clean and tidy state, all rubbish removed and in good condition.

    The Cleaning Bond will be returned 14 days after the end date of the booking.

  • Evening activity times to be negotiated on a case by case basis. Fees apply as above.

Hiring categories

  • WA: Weekly activity all year - fees payable at the conclusion of the activity each week

  • WB: Weekly activity term/semester period - fees payable at the commencement of the activity

  • MA: Monthly activity all year - fees payable at the conclusion of the activity each week

  • MB: Monthly activity term/semester period - fees payable at the commencement of the activity

  • WOA: Weekend workshop - fees payable at the commencement of the activity

  • WOB: Workshop of more than 2 consecutive days - fees payable at the commencement of the activity

General information

Bookings for use of the Studios are through the NSoA website online form. The bookings must meet the objectives of the NSoA Studios to promote and engage in art workshops, cultural and educational activities.

A representative from the NSoA Gallery and Studio Working Group will contact the applicant and confirm the dates are available and that the proposed activity meets the criteria above.

Activity participant fees will be set by the Working Group in consultation with the artist/tutor.

The artist/tutor is responsible for set up and pack down of the Studio and their own equipment. The artist/tutor will be required to sign for the items on the inventory checklist which will be signed off by a member of the Working Group at the conclusion of the activity. If the activity is all year a Working Group representative will monitor the use of the facility and its furnishings/items from time to time, or as required.

Once a proposal is made and agreed to a Studio Hire Agreement will be completed.
